After trying their chicken pesto sandwich and pumpkin soup, I was HOOKED. I wasn't really in the mood for a sandwich when my sister brought me here, but as soon as I took a bite, I was pleasantly surprised. Then I had a bite of my sister's turkey avocado sandwich and was mad I didn't get that instead. Ha. So I came back the next day, and the next day with family. I tried all the sandwiches and soups and LOVE ZUPA'S! It is affordable and delicious. I'm not sure if they home make the soups, but they are all very good. A nice additive are the chocolate dipped strawberries they give you with a nice, soft slice of bread to dip in your soup. Service is good too. The cashier apologized to me because we had to get our food to go since we couldn't find any seating. I thought it was nice that he cared at all since seating is really out of their control. Tip: Don't go during the lunch rush. It's hard to get a table, BUT if you do go during the rush, I've got the system down. Know what you want and have your friend stand in line and order while you scout for a table.

Great looking food pictures, but looks can be deceiving. I went there for lunch and chose the 2 item lunch which was a sandwich and a 1/2 bowl of soup. I had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. There wasn't much turkey, bacon, or avocado. It was ok. I ordered chicken tortilla soup and I swear that whoever salted it is trying to kill everyone who eats it. Maybe they use water from the great salt lake, but, it was just too salty to eat. I may go back for a salad someday, but I doubt it.

I'm still not used to paying almost $30 for lunch for myself, my husband, and my daughter at a quick service restaurant. Cafe Zupa's fits in this category. We got the combos. I got the wild mushroom bisque (very flavorful but by the time they got all the parts of our order together it was lukewarm) and turkey bacon avocado panini (ok but bland--couldn't taste the honey-mustard dressing at all). My husband got the honey chipotle lime salad (and with a name like that you'd expect a lot of flavor, but he said it was bland) and the BBQ pork sandwich (he liked it better than the salad, but also couldn't taste the honey mustard dressing). Our daughter got the $4 kid's meal which came with 2 measly chicken strips and an ok-sized fruit cup. The soda they gave her looked like a medium at other restaurants. Pros: we liked the chocolate-covered strawberry they give you. It's a nice change to a traditional dessert and it helped give the meal a nice ending. We liked making our daughter's Sprite into a Mango-Sprite Italian Soda. Cons: the ordering process is horrible. You order your sandwiches and kid's meal at one "station," your soup at another, and then your add-ons at a third--then you pay at a fourth. The food is less flavorful than it seems like it should be. The price does not seem to reflect the portion. The kid's meal is worthless if your kid actually likes eating.

Take order policy STINKS!! Stood in long line only to be told by the girl making the salads that I had to go to the call-in order register to place my order. Waited over twenty minutes for my food. Meanwhile people behind me got their food. Won't be back!

The service was rude. Apparently I didn't read their instructions tried ordering a sandwich standing in the wrong spot. The mixed up our order with the folks in front and in back of us in line. The soup was cold, and I know this seems silly but the ribbed bowls makes it impossible to get the last drops out. The taste of everything was fine but a few tweaks could make this place as good or better than a Panera Bread. This place seems to be copying Panera Bread but with a metrosexual twist.

The soup and sandwiches here are the pinnacle of eating establishments of this type. The lobster bysk is my favorite and the grilled ham and cheese is very tasty. I eat here probably twice a month. The service is fast and I never wait in line longer than 5 minutes.
Really good. I had the chicken pesto panini. it was wonderful. I also had the salad the strawberry one. The line wasn't long at all. It wasn't very crowded. Good, helpful service. I love that it comes with bread and a chocolate covered strawberry.

Cafe Zupas will always be a quick lunchtime favorite. This location in American fork is SLAMMED during the lunch hour, so you may want to get there an hour before or after 12:00. As you would expect, this location maintains the standard of excellence that all of the Zupas locations typically uphold. Friendly staff, fast service, and delicious food. Something I have been noticing lately is that for whatever reason, the Chicken Enchilada Chili seems to be slightly different from other locations. Trust me, it is the only soup I order and I order it every single time. It is still good, but definitely slightly off from other locations. Which brings me to my recommendations If you haven't tried Zupas yet, I promise you can't go wrong with my usual. Chicken Enchilada chilli and a Honey Bacon club hot panini sandwich. Both are the perfect pair - so much so that I usually dip my sandwich in my soup. The chilli is always hot, with a great pairing of a creamy soup base with black beans, corn, and chunks of grilled chicken. The honey bacon club is exactly as you would expect, cheese, honey mustard, turkey, bacon, and tomato all pressed tightly inbetween two delicious pieces of bread. To top it all off, they give you a piece of bread and chocolate dipped strawberry to finish the meal on a sweet note. For the price of $8 and change, it is hard to beat Zupas. I never hate myself after eating here either, which tends to make me assume that it is reasonably healthy. If you are looking for a quick and tasty lunch meal, head over to Zupas. Today.

I've been here on several occasions. When it first opened, I loved it. However, recently, it seems like business has changed. I'm allergic to tomatoes, and pretty badly at that. I asked if they could wipe down their sandwich counter before making my sandwich because sometimes I can be pretty sensitive. The girl behind the counter acted like I was making it inconvenient for them, which only makes me worry about their cleanliness habits. I've never had a problem with other restaurants and then accommodating for my allergy. So why was it a big deal for them? I understand they can't 100% prevent cross contamination, but why is it so hard for them to have me ask them to try? Then, I asked if I could have extra artichoke spread (my favorite part of the sandwich) and they told me no??? Like, I understand that food costs at places like these can be intense, but seriously?? I mean, custom orders are kind of industry-standard. If a customer ever came into my work and asked for extra of something else in exchange for something they didn't want, it's as good as done. I don't even care if there was an extra charge for it, they just straight up denied me! How embarrassing. At this point, I'm just not convinced their food is good enough to justify bad service. I asked for a sample of their lobster bisque that ended up being really separated. The oil sat on top of the soup in little spots all over the sample cup. It was gross!! So I went with a soup that I've had before and know that I like. Unfortunately, I guess they changed the soup recipe because their Wisconsin Cauliflower tasted bland, which is not how I used to know it. I am not even kidding, I created this yelp account and downloaded the app simply because the experience was so embarrassing. I hope they improve because it's a shame that this once good restaurant is so bad now.

I'm new to Utah and had never heard of Zupa's. My husband, being from Utah, suggested Zupa's one day while we were out and I was craving a salad. He seemed like he was about to let me in on a very delicious secret... I don't remember the name of the salad I ordered, but it had strawberries and blueberries in it. I was extra hungry so I asked them to add chicken to make the salad more substantial. The service was fast and pleasantly friendly, even at busy lunch time. The establishment was clean and bright. My salad was giant! It was so fresh. The lettuce was crispy and ice cold. They were generous with the berries, although more chicken would have been awesome. I don't think I said a word to my husband during lunch. I was completely preoccupied with just how incredible and flavorful my salad was. I thought the prices were fair, and that was before the fresh baguette slice and chocolate covered strawberry. I will happily return!

For this California Yelper, $8.29 for a hot panini and a salad is a sweet deal, especially when it includes a free chocolate covered strawberry! Zupas is setup like Chipotle where you get in line and watch the process of your meal being put together. Everything was quite good, but probably not that "healthy" compared to California, but its relatively healthy for Utah, which is overwhelmed with fast food and chain restaurants.

Every time I visit Cafe Zupas I always leave impressed. I've tasted about half the menu and can't say I've discovered anything I did not enjoy. I am generally not big on salads unless I'm eating at Zupas. The salads are top notch along with the soup and sandwiches. I epically like the Turkey Bacon Club, the Lobster Bisque, and the Asian Citrus Chicken Salad. Zupas is branded as a healthy place to grab soup and salad. Do not be fooled. There is a reason the calorie content is kept confidential and not available to customers, even when requested. Having said that, the food is incredible and is pretty gourmet for for under $10. Check out my Picts of the Asian citrus chicken salad and the TBC

Their food is not as good as it was a few years ago, they have screwed up my order the last few times I've gone in and I found a live bug in my salad. Won't be going back.

Large Asian Citrus Salad - too small. A $9 salad should have atleast $2 of lettuce. Boo. Wont comw back here for a slad again. It did taste great tho! Get their soups.

This place can get pretty busy, but they are always quick and always friendly. Never gotten anything I didn't like here, their TBA and lobster bisque are my personal favorites. Always clean, and clean restrooms. Pretty generous portions for the price. Plus they have some great seasonal items too. Feel free to sample any soups!
We were just passing through and hoping for a healthy lunch instead we found the worst excuse for a soup and sandwich restaurant I've ever come across. The berry salad was watery, the "vegetarian sandwich" was a load of mayo with tomato and shredded lettuce and one piece of cheese. The Turkey bacon club was on cold fake panini bread and was inedible. The chicken tortilla soup was salt soup. We tried to eat it, but ended up throwing it all away and starting over across the street. Oh yeah, SO loud and crowded!

I hadn't been to Zuppas in a while and forgot how good it was. The salad and sandwiches are awesome. My wife loves the soup (I eat about half of it ha) with her salad and everything taste great. Usually this location is always packed but people move pretty quick. I would highly recommend Zuppas.

Love ME SOME ZUPAS! It's great fresh food fast. They make it in front of you so it's not wrong. You can change up ingredients to fit your needs. Salads, sandwiches, soups & yummy desserts. They always give you a piece of sour dough bread & chocolate covered strawberry. I love to pick up a salad before work at least twice a week. :-)

Excellent! Went there for the first time last night. Had the lobster bisque, Turkey bacon avocado club, and mandarin blackberry salad with blood orange vinaigrette One word... Wow!! The dressing was bro ably the best I have ever had. The food was excellent. This place is basically a take on Panera but in my opinion is much better. The only down side is the atmosphere. Crowded, fast pace, and not relaxing. You will find your self eating fast due to the music and atmosphere.

I've never been a huge salad/soup guy so for awhile whenever someone suggested going to Zupas I always said no. Finally my brother got me to go after explaining that they had really good sandwiches. I ordered a half sandwich half salad after viewing all their different choices. The Honey Bacon Club panini and BBQ Chicken Salad are awesome! This is the only place I'll order a salad from and each time it's delicious! I haven't tried their soups but family members have told me they're pretty good. I prefer adding extra sauce to my panini because it's so dang good! Service is quite fast and friendly, they did screw up our order once but fixed it right away and we got an extra salad and sandwich! Overall it's a great choice for a heathy meal!

Small portions big prices, even worse than when I came in a year ago. A salad here is more expensive than a larger all organic salad in downtown San Francisco. Total rip off. Additionally, the lines move super slowly. I might try again in another year or two but until then...I'm out.

The only good thing about this place is the food. But I always feel rushed out and when I try to tell my order it's rarely heard. It's also not the best when you walk on and te two girls working are talking to each other and wait a minute before sayin hello.

Love Zupas! The best combination of food and price that I can find. I feel like I'm getting a healthy meal (love the Berry Salads) with a tasty soup or salad. The bread and chocolate covered strawberry is the cherry on top! This location is usually busy so we go before or after peak times. Even when we've gone during busy times we get through the line fast and have no problem finding a table. Customer service has been great. Did I mention the Italian Sodas? Call me girly but I love going her more than my wife does.

I went to zupas twice this week, and both times I was disappointed. The first visit, my husband attempted to order one full sized sandwich for a child in our party, but the person who took our order disregarded our request and instead took it upon himself to assume that we were ordering a child's meal. As we went down the line to continue our order, we were repeatedly interrupted by the employees' personal conversation that they conducted mid-customer service. The gentleman serving soup went so far as to interrupt our order to serve his peer her lunch, and then had to ask us to repeat our order. When we finally got to the register we were offered drinks (fountain drinks), which we accepted, but once again, our request was ignored and we were given water cups. There were very few tables available, and those that were were still covered in dishes. On the second visit, we got the correct order, but once again, we were repeatedly interrupted by the employees personal conversations. Typically, im not that picky, but having to stand and wait for no other reason than pure unprofessionalism tests my patience. P.S. I would have asked for a manager, except the manager was one of the offenders. Also both visits we encountered a different set of staff, which to me indicates a professionalism problem across the entire establishment, not just individuals.

Very good soup and sandwiches. My favorite soup is the Wisconsin Cauliflower. You can't taste any cauliflower. My hubby's is the lobster bisque. Of course you can't go wrong with the tomato soup either. And the HBC sandwich, as the workers call it (which is the Ham Bacon Cheese), is mouthwateringly tantalizing. The honey mustard just adds the right touch. My only complaint is that everyone seems to know how good this place is because it's always crowded; I always stress out worried I won't find a place to sit.

First time and it wasn't in their restaurant, but at my home since my wife picked some up for us. I had the steak salad and it was very good. We will have to do a meal there soon to see the whole menu and do some experimenting.

Overall, the Zupas chain has been pretty consistent, but this location delivered the worst experience I've had. The panini bread was very hard, and the mushroom soup had bigger white "chunks" in it than usual. I figured it just hadn't been blended well but stopped eating after a few bites because of a distinct sour taste. We weren't given bread or strawberries with our to-go order. On any given day, I wouldn't be too bothered by any one of these things (stuff happens, right?), but all three in the same visit? The restaurant wasn't even busy when we went in. What happened?

My wife and I tried the new Chicken Chipotle and the Asian Chicken salads. Chicken Chipotle FTW! The Asian Chicken was good, but the Chicken Chipotle was even better. Add to that a yummy lobster bisque and I've a happy tummy.

Things have changed since I was here last...the toppings on the sandwich seem to have been cut back. The soup is now served in a cardboard bowl and the portion seems less. I always thought it was a little pricey for what you get but now I say it's definitely over priced for what you get.
(2)
Rod S.
I guess I have to write about the food, even though every other aspect of my experience was awful too. The mushroom soup was overly salty. The Thai lobster curry soup had only hints of lobster or curry. It was only when I went back to the counter and looked that I realized they used a real Panini press for my Panini sandwich. I thought they just tossed a pre-marked defrosted sandwich on something to heat it. There was nothing good about the taste or texture. Others mileage may be better, but I would not pay to go here.

PRO: The Cauliflower soup. :) CON: Lunchtime. You can NEVER find a table. You stand around with your trays scoping for a spot for 5 minutes every time. Other locations (Orem) aren't as bad as this one. Also, you can NEVER find a parking spot outside. PRO: The portions. At least for women, I always have something to take home. CON: Men hate this place because it seems girly. My hubby makes fun of men that go here without their wives. PRO: The salads are ALL good. I recommend the Nuts about Berries. CON: The sandwiches. They're pretty much gross and nothing special, except for the chicken pesto. That one is good. SUMMARY: Go here with your girlfriends. Just not during prime lunch hours. Get a salad/soup combo. Enjoy your cute complimentary chocolate-covered strawberry.

I absolutely love Zupas. There are only a couple issues; it's a little pricey, and the sandwiches are just ok. Their salad is awesome, and their soups are unreal. The combos are $7.99 and are plenty to fill you up. The complementary chocolate covered strawberry is just a bonus. This place is awesome. I recommend it to everyone. Don't expect a cozy atmosphere, however. It is always crowded, and very loud here. Here's a few tips; the nuts and berry salad is delicious and comes with ample GIANT fresh berries, and the mushroom bisque soup is ridiculously tasty, and I don't personally care for mushrooms.

Wow, been to other zupas locations before and had a great experience. This time, not so much. The soup (lobster thai curry)was amazingly over salted to the point of not being edible. You would think that somewhere in the cooking process you would want to taste your product before you sell it, but what would I know, I'm just a consumer that spends hundreds of dollars each year dining out...

The lobster bisque and enchilada soup are great. Portions are good sized, kids meal sandwich was perfect for my little one. The chocolate-covered strawberry is a fun treat when you're done. I avoid this place when its super busy, but otherwise I'm a fan.

This place does sandwiches, soups, and salads and not much else, but they are delicious! The decor reminds me of a cross between club and Internet cafe, with power plug-ins and Internet terminals in the center of the restaurant. The lights' colors are bright and cheery and the walls are painted in more soothing earth tones. I found this is already a favorite of my family. I tried the Lobster bisque and was impressed. However, my daughter gave me some of her Wild Mushroom Bisque and it was easily the best I have ever had. The tomato soup is quite sophisticated betraying its usual humble flavor. The soups are all seasoned in a way that makes your taste buds perk up and say wow. It reminds me of the difference of your run-of-the-mill Chinese food take out and PF Changs. The grilled panini sandwiches are also very good. I tried the Boston Crab Melt (I was in a seafood mood), and it was good, but many others looked even better. The bread is thinner than I've had in other similar sandwiches and doesn't hide the taste of the fillings. Think of it as a tasty, crispy, chewy handle that helps you gobble the sandwich down without getting it all over you or being overly filling. My family members raved over the salads which looked amazing, but alas, I chose to go with soup and sandwich only. The deserts also looked amazing. To help those who choose not to purchase dessert, they throw in a nicely prepared chocolate covered strawberry with each combo order. Very tasty. I'll be back.

Great soups and salads! If they hadn't changed their bread, I would say the same about the sandwiches. I also like how often they come out with something new. I think they lay it on a little "thick" with the strawberry dipped in chocolate and that piece of bread they call a "baguette" but otherwise, a very good meal. And this location has much better service than the one in Provo.

Was in the area and after a long trip decided to stop off at Cafe Zupas for lunch. Zupas is a sandwich, soup, and salads. It has a nice modern look to it which reminds me of cross between Starbucks & They have an interesting set up as you go up to the counter and order your food and then you go down the assembly line and tell them what you want whether it be toppings in your salad or type of soup. They have about a dozen different salad options with about another dozen different salad toppings, and about 10 soups and 10 panini's to choose from. Pricing here is reasonable. You're looking at about $5 - $7 for either a panini, soup, or salad, or you can do a half and half for about $8. I decided to get the Pesto Chicken Panini and the Tuscan White Bean Soup. It was pretty crowded - so it took a while before I got my food. I found a spot to sit down and eat and dug in. Overall - I have to say that food didn't live up to billing. The Pesto Chicken Panini was ok. The bread it was cooked on was good and the chicken chunks were decent and it had a good size - but for something called "pesto" it lacked any kind of pesto to it. And for a panini - I would say it was barely warm and the cheese inside was not melted at all. The soup - honestly was barely edible. It was WAY too salt. I had to drink several cups of water it was so salty. Also I was disappointed about the amount of beans and vegetables. It's described as light and it definitely was light on substance - well maybe not the salt. As to rating - this is a hard one. I can taste the attempt at making something good - but the execution here was just bad. Overall I would say 2.5 rating but for yelp purposes I'm going to round down. If one of the items was executed well - I probably would have rounded up - but since both were poorly executed, I'm rounding down. I might be tempted to try again or maybe go to another location because it looks like this place just opened up but for this review - 2 star rating for Cafe Zupas.

My wife loves this place, but I dread going. Don't get me wrong, I like salads and soup. But at Zupas, they are soooo stingy with the toppings on the salads, it is unbelievable. Tiny spoons that drop 3 grapes on your salad or 1/32 of a cup of chicken. The prices are outrageous for what you are getting. For 2 small soups, 2 small salads and 2 drinks, over $20??!!??!! You've got to be kidding me! Don't even think about going at peak lunch time. Lines are LONG and good luck finding a table. I'm not sure why, but women flock here in droves. Maybe it is more of a social thing than the food.

I've been wanting to go here forever and I finally went with my friend for lunch. I ordered the soup and salad combo, I got the Wisconson Califlower Soup which was sooooo good and the Vermont Maple Blueberry Salad which was way way to sweet for a salad...it actually tasted like a dessert so I wont get that again. I really like how with every meal they give you a chocolate covered strawberry which makes you feel special for some reason. One thing that I did not like here is when you order your soup and they ask you if you would like cheese on top without telling you there is an extra charge (and of course I say yes) then they charge you 59 cents extra for the cheese. Other than the unknowingly extra charge for the cheese and the dessert salad I really liked this place and I will be back.

Had to remake a sandwich be cause it dropped of the face of the earth. Once remade it was done wrong according to how it was wanted done. I was blamed for not retelling them. Also pieces of toothpick was found in the shredded meat.

Their food is not as good as it was a few years ago, they have screwed up my order the last few times I've gone in and I found a live bug in my salad. Won't be going back.
(1)Paul K.
Large Asian Citrus Salad - too small. A $9 salad should have atleast $2 of lettuce. Boo. Wont comw back here for a slad again. It did taste great tho! Get their soups.
(2)Adrianna C.

(3.25 stars) Tuesday's working lunch while visiting my Orem client saw someone drive to Café Zupas for takeout. He was gone for a bit longer than expected, with the locals explaining that Zupas during lunch hours can be a bit slow. Café Zupas appears to be a regional chain in Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona, specializing in soups, sandwiches and salads. Their marketing is of an upscale and healthy alternative to fast food, a pitch which had me wary. I usually try to eat well, but experience has proven that when calories, fats, sodium, carbs, sugars and the other sins of healthy eating are too greatly reduced, the food wrappers may have more flavor. This wasn't the case at Café Zupas, and while I'm grateful, I'm also now quite suspect of whether "healthy" is better interpreted as "healthier." Ordered was a soup and sandwich combo; New England Clam Chowder and their spin on an Italian Club sandwich. Accompanying the combo was a small wedge of baguette and a chocolate-dipped strawberry. These were nice touches. The New England Clam Chowder avoided the starch-laden mess that a mass-produced milk-based soup can so often present. Instead, the texture and consistency were good. The chowder was quite light on clams, and a touch heavy on salt, but generally enjoyable. Their Italian Club sandwich was billed as containing "ham, Genoa salami, turkey, roasted red peppers, Muenster cheese, mixed greens, tomatoes, and house-made balsamic spread." Although Muenster, rather than provolone, was a curious choice, the Italian Club delivered. Flavors were discernible, balanced by the balsamic spread, and (with the exception of the ciabatta-style roll), of a good quality. The ciabatta lacked both the texture and supporting flavor notes of a quality product. Judging from their menu pricing, Café Zupas offers good food at prices which are quite reasonable. Those expecting to find truly healthy fare, or who are practicing the vegetarian spin du jour will probably characterize their Café Zupas experience as a "crash-and-burn." Personally, I enjoyed my lunch.

(5)AaronandMara D.

Always quick and the staff is extremely friendly. I eat there once a week because of the salads and soups. I was disappointed when they changed their salads, but the few I've tried since have been good.
(4)Jeff G.
The food was good... the company was good... the service was good... even though it was late at night but it felt good in my body. They actually stayed late for us and we didn't realize but they didn't say a word. they had great service!
(5)Jamie G.
I had the chicken enchilada soup and the California turkey add cranberry it was delicious as always! My kids love this place as well! The chocolate dip strawberries tops it off.
(5)Eve H.
Small portions big prices, even worse than when I came in a year ago. A salad here is more expensive than a larger all organic salad in downtown San Francisco. Total rip off. Additionally, the lines move super slowly. I might try again in another year or two but until then...I'm out.
(1)Stephanie N.
The only good thing about this place is the food. But I always feel rushed out and when I try to tell my order it's rarely heard. It's also not the best when you walk on and te two girls working are talking to each other and wait a minute before sayin hello.
(2)Luke A.

(5)Homesmiths P.
First time and it wasn't in their restaurant, but at my home since my wife picked some up for us. I had the steak salad and it was very good. We will have to do a meal there soon to see the whole menu and do some experimenting.
(4)Lindsey G.
(2)Trent S.
My wife and I tried the new Chicken Chipotle and the Asian Chicken salads. Chicken Chipotle FTW! The Asian Chicken was good, but the Chicken Chipotle was even better. Add to that a yummy lobster bisque and I've a happy tummy.
(4)Audrey J.
Things have changed since I was here last...the toppings on the sandwich seem to have been cut back. The soup is now served in a cardboard bowl and the portion seems less. I always thought it was a little pricey for what you get but now I say it's definitely over priced for what you get.
(2)Rod S.
(1)K L.
I thoroughly enjoy this place and despite how busy it is, I am always treated with the best service. Everyone is always friendly and eager to help.
(5)Amanda H.

(1)Christine N.
Lines are long, food is mediocre. Not sure why it deserves the crowds.
(2)Kirsten L.

(5)Andy C.
Love this place. Try the lobster bisque or Thai lobster curry soup and the nuts about berries salad. Service is always fast and friendly. High energy place is always busy. That says a lot.
(4)Chris L.
(5)Ryan T.
Excellent soups and paninis. They have a few locations, and always a decent lunch or light dinner.
(3)Chris C.
(2)Tom B.
(2)Blakeley B.
